I am planing to go to Mongolia in June with my boyfriend.
We want to take a train from Beijing.
What is the Best way the get a ticket?
I try to contact some traveling agency for a advance ticket but they said because of the Olympic.
No reservation are provide but we can buy a ticket when it close to the date.

Is Anyone know how soon can we buy the ticket?
Can we buy the ticket from another city? ( my Boyfriend will be in Nanjing in begin of May)

Thank you much!!

Hi Yael

You could try http://www.realrussia.com - I know they are Moscow / London based but I think they can book it from Beijing to Moscow and there is also a company based in Beijing called Monkey Business. Good Luck! Pip

It is http://realrussia.co.uk but I don't think anyone can help with this is it is the Chinese government that is limiting the sales.

Consider taking local transport which you can buy yourself at the train station in Beijing.

I've booked my trip with http://www.trans-siberian.co.uk you could try them, but I don't think they do train tickets only.

shaxmeister - have you checked with them lately to make sure that everything is going to be as you expect? The Chinese keep changing the rules and perhaps they are waiting to see what will happen before notifying you that the situation has changed and they can't get the tickets.

We get to Beijing on the 8th August, but arrive in Macau on 20th July and are then making our way up through China.

I emailed our agent and they said they think they'll still be able to get tickets cos the Chinese government is holding them for athletes and she thinks a) the athletes won't really want to go home by train, and b) they won't be leaving before the closing ceremony. So they're holding on to some flights as a back-up in case we don't get the tickets.

Fingers crossed.
