Hello everybody,

We're planning a trip to Mongolia next summer and we want to join the Naadam festival on july 11th.
What is the best place to buy tickets for the opening ceremony and other sports events?
And can we book legal tickets online in advance? I'm curious, because I've heard that a lot of invalid tickets will circulate in UB a few days before the festival will start... Please help us out! Thank you so much!

Kiki.

Hi Kiki

Tourists can buy Naadam opening ceremony tickets for about USD25 from the Metropolitan Tourism Department, or through hotels and tour operators. Most tour operators include tickets to the opening ceremony in their tour programs during July.

The tickets will become available only a few weeks before Naadam. There is no option of purchasing tickets online.

See the 2011 detailed Naadam program for more details.

Enjoy the Naadam

Hello Kiki. Best bet is Hennessy's Restbar. It is situated behind the Kempinski International Hotel. Its an expats bar and they have all the information and contacts as well as tickets for you name it.
The manager is an American named Jake. Find them on facebook.

Sainuu! Thank you for the tips guys! I'll figure it out and hopefully we can arrange some tickets. The problem is that we arrive in Mongolia at the start of the Naadam festival. So we cannot make it to buy some tickets ourselves and we don't want any 'Naadam excursion', we are looking for just the ticket. Anyway...thanks a lot!!!

Hi Kiki

In that case simply ask your guesthouse to purchase tickets for you.
It is expected you pay in advance for one night at the hotel and the full cost of the tickets.

Enjoy the Naadam

Hi there? Anyone going to the Naadam fest in Gegentala, near Hohhot end july?

Or anybody has some info about that, hot to reach, where to sleep etc etc I'll be in BeiJing July 27, and would like to go there for some days.
