Prices for obtaining Mongolian visas from the embassy in Canberra went up yesterday. The new prices are at: www.mongolianembassy.org.au It now costs $100 for a single entry tourist visa (ouch!)

This is really silly.

I am sure all this does is slightly discourage tourists from spending many dollars in Mongolia. Not that $35 is much of a discouragement.
Maybe I will haveto marry a Mongol next week.

Seriously, why would they do that to the general touring public?
