Hi,

does anyone know about travelling in Mongolia in December. I would like to get a good experience of the country and it's wildness but don't think I can afford a pre-paid tour. Maybe I can find something cheaper in the country. Or does anyone know of a cheap way of getting a couple of weeks of the real Mongolia once there?

I know it's going to be really cold but I'm assuming a good down coat and some outer trousers will be enough to feel OK. Any general advice about Mongolia at this time of year (December)? Thanks! :)

Hi,I been in December last year in Mongolia for 5 days.It was fine if you have good arrangements in UB.
I have contacted with Bonda Lake guest in Khovsgol/they have friend guest house in Ulaanbaatar/
And they can arrange day or 2 or 3 days trips around UB.visit nomads and Terelj National Park and other nice historical places around UB.mongoliantrips@yahoo.com this the contact of them.
I suggest to contact them. They have many warm Mongolian clothes to use during the stay!

wow I am also thinking about going to mongolia in Dec. it will be around the end of Dec. I am just staying for a couples of days and then take a train to moscow.

I have done some researches on trips and it turns out be to not so expensive, and if you are joining a group trip, the cost would be much lower than going by yourself.
