I will be in UB from the 16th July until the 3rd August, traveling alone and would like to join a group to share the costs . I like adventures , easy going and flexible where I want to go as Mongolia is a first for me. It's about the journey and meeting people along the way that is more important. I am a budget traveler would like to see the Gobi but the steppes are great too.

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to Mongolia at around the same time as you (maybe slightly earlier) and will pretty much be in the same situation; travelling alone on a low budget, flexible about destinations, and looking for others to share the costs with. As I said, I haven't done much planning yet but would certainly be interested in joining a group if there is space. Let me know if you get anything organised and need someone else to make up the numbers.

As I posted before in another thread I am travelling as wel as you and Ben with the same ideas and no detailed plan. Most important: get to know the people, landscape, culture by getting arround. I travel from 28. June to 20. august.
If we are already three persons... would be already enough to hire a jeep & guide and go... (?)
Maybe a good idea to send some private messages now,- get to know each other a little bit and see if we can meet in UB to oranganize something!?

Dont forget little ole me, Britta. Remember, I know someone coming in on your same train. 5/6 people is the best number in a van. In Mongolia a jeep rents for the same price as a van.

To both of you.... oh sorry have not been reading this forum... I have booked already a trip to the GOBI one friend of mine is flying over to join me. A jeep hire and return flight. Good luck to both of you in Mongolia it seems the closer to the dates a group of traveleres will appear. I contacted all the GH 's in LP and put my name out there for available tours and people in the GH to hook up with this is a really good idea as they get last minute bookings where you may be able to join in to bring down the costs.
