This website mentions alot of commonly mentioned tour companies in Ulan Bataar, with a warning against them.
Should we not be using these companies, or is it just that they have copied another companies website info, but they are still safe to travel with and send money to. (Its too late for me - I've already sent deposit to one of them).
Like most tour companies, ours wants our total payment 8 weeks before travel.
So many travellers seem to make their arrangements at the last minute on arrival, so am wondering if anyone has had a problem prepaying so far ahead.
I'm sure everything is ok, but wonder if someone currently in UB might know anything.

Selena Travel is a well known Mongolian travel company. If you read the website that you linked carefully you will see that what they are objecting to is other companies copying their programs and offerings verbatim.
I don't recall ever having heard of any of these other companies. OTOH think about it, if they are dishonest and can't be bothered to create their own websites and post their own information, do you really think they can be bothered to be honest about other aspects of their business?
