anyone got any info about this border?

when i get to Ölgii, i want to arrange egale hunt trips with the local hunters
when is the best time to do this?, i know the season starts in october, but i heard it should be snow first

when does it normally snow in Ölgii?

Hi Christian,

Check here for border information http://www.infomongolia.com/ct/ci/220/133/Mongolian%20Border%20Control%20and%20Ports

It should be starting to snow heavily around now and continuing to get heavier and colder so you'll need some serious warm weather clothes.

When you say hunting do you mean just riding out with the hunters? This is pretty simple to organise provided that your guide knows someone who is going out but means riding hard for many days at a time with the huntsmen through heavy snow and mountains so be prepared for a bit of genuine hardship.

As for the actual hunting you'd need to take your own eagle with you to actually participate. Real hunters develop a particular bond with their eagle and as such will be very reluctant to "lend" their bird to a traveller and may even be offended if asked. Having said that you could certainly join the huntsmen, shoot and eat what you catch if you wanted to.

Hope this helps.
