Hi there!!

I am planning a trip to Mongolia this July 2012 for 3 weeks. Planning to be in within the first week of July and stay for about 3 weeks. Would definately like to be part of the Naadam Festival, do horse trekking around khovsgol lake and ger camping. I am pretty much flexible with the iitineray and have rough it out before in other parts of Asia.

Looking to get some travel partners who would like to do those of the above along. Would be flying into Beijing before going up to ULB by the Tran Mongolian railway. Anyone keen just drop me a PM!

Jack. 30 years old. Singapore.

Hi Jack,
It's very popular to join groups that goes to khovsgol from UB or any kind of trekking , especially durng (or after) Naadam festival.
actually this is the only way to go.. it's very rare (and expensive) to "do it yourself"..
once u'll get to the hostel in UB, it will happen very quick :)

enjoy :)

Hi Jack,

I understand that you have been infested by backpacking bug but Mongolia is a wild country. Backpacking can be possible but very very difficult. No idea about how expensive it could be.

Doing tour(s) thr' some GH / operators in countryside is a common practice. I have been there in year 2010 for almost 4 weeks and personally I would LOVE to do backpacking in Mongolia if I visit this empty land again.

Enjoy Mongol
