I'm going to Japan at the start of November and staying for 21 days.

Flying into and out of Narita Airport.
My rough itinerary so far is:
5 nights in Tokyo - trip to mt. fuji
4 nights in Kyoto - trip to koya san
2 nights in Osaka
2 nights in Hiroshima

The remainder of my trip is probably going to be around Kanazawa, Nagano, and Takayama. And maybe a trip to Nikko if time allows. Any suggestions welcome though.

Do you think the 21 day JR pass is necessary for this itinerary?

Ideally a mix of traditional, unique, outdoor, nature and sea and mountain views.

Booked into Hostel Nui in Tokyo. Even though will be heading to Setagaya area most of time. For hostel and hike atb that time of year worth doing Nikko or any other suggestions?

We wish to visit Japan over Easter for two weeks from the UK, but are having real trouble finding decently priced flights. We thought we might be able to get a cheap Ryanair/Easyjet flight to a European city, and then fly from there to Japan. However, we're having trouble working out how to search for this online.

Any tips for cheap flights to Japan?

I'm looking for recommendations for itinerary and suitable passes from Fukuoka to Tokyo.
I leave Fukuoka on Nov 14 and fly out from Tokyo on Dec 11.
I'd interested in the following:
Hiroshima
Miyajima
Cycle shimanami kaido

Nara
Koyansan ( at least one night)
Kumano kodo ( 6 day trek)
Kyoto (at least 4 days)

So my friend and I are traveling to Japan in December! What I'm really interested in is other's experiences in staying in Airbnbs in Tokyo versus staying in hotels. Also is there any special events going on in December?

I'll be coming by train from Ise/Nagoya, and then on to the Tokyo airport (don't know which one yet), and have just a single night and half day to spend in the Mt. Fuji area. It's rushed, but I literally just want to see Fuji. Which train stop would provide quick access to the most scenic views but also be very convenient for such a short visit? Travel time will be February if that matters, and hotel price range is budget to mid range. My research so far indicates Kawaguchiko is a good bet, but…
