We are 3 spaniards flying to Japan for 23 days from 24th July till 17th August (probably not the best period for travelling there!). We´ll be grateful if somebody can give us some advices.
Our aim is to pick up the Japan Railway Pass for 21 days and make the following trip:
Tokyo and surroundings: 3 nights
Tokyo-Takayama –Kanazawa: 2
Matsushita: 1
Aomori: 3
Nikko: 1
Kioto (Nara): 5
Nagasaki 2

Is Tsukiji Fish Market still open to tourists ? If so, is the 5:00 tuna auction still open to tourists? We have to go there for a supply chain operations assignment.

IF i reserve a seat using a JR pass, waht happens if I fail to take that trip, am I still allowed to reserve another schedule on the same route? IF I arrive late or change my plan, can I just show up at the nonreserved section? Whats the best way to get a seat on a nonreserve seat?Is there a queue..?If waiting for the queue, do I have to stand in the queu for the rest of the time that the next train will arrive, say, for 30 minutes or an hour?Sorry for many questions but i do appreciate ur…

We're going to a conference in Osaka in October and want somewhere interesting to stay. Ryokan would be fine. If possible, close to the Convention Centre "The Cube" - or accessable by train/bus. Any ideas?

I'm just another nearly-highschool-graduate planning a (not really) round the world trip. The only country I have my heart set on is Japan. I'll probably go for at least three months, and maybe longer depending on how outrageously expensive it is/how well i can deal with the crazyness. I'm looking for recommendations for a country to visit afterwards! I originally wanted Moscow, London, or Amsterdam, but they're all very expensive and far away.

I was wondering if anybody know some left luggage facility at Hiroshima JR station.Were planning for a short stop here enroute to Fukouka from Kyoto. IS there a coin lockers in this station? Cabin bag size can fit it? ANy other option? How about left luggae facility at the hiroshima airport? (is it far from JR station?), if so, is there such left luggage facility at hiroshima airport?

We are a backpacker´s couple travelling to Japan this summer. Our idea is to buy the Japan Rail Pass and discover the island for 3 weeks. A part from Tokyo and Kyoto, we would like to know which parts of Japan people suggest that we should visit. We plan to stay in hostels...any special recommendation?

Hi guys, just wondering if its necessary to book capsule hotels. Only going to be staying in Tokyo for one night at the end of July and thought it'd be interesting to try this capsule hotel. We've noticed that this one accepts women, as there will be 2 women and a guy on the trip. If anyone has any experiences we'd be glad to hear them.

I know this thread should be posted on another forum "talking in tongues" but may be I can get some help on this forum. I am looking for some small phrases in japanese, just to be polite with a client I should meet today.
Any help would be very appreciated. I already had some commands; suh as:
- Ohayo gozai masu.
- Konnichiwa.
- Haji jimashti.
- kodasay.
If possible how to say: " I speak japanese, only a little bit"
