I will arrive in Tokyo on 11/8 (1600 local time ) and head to Yamagata immediatedly, does anybody knows JR time table from
1. Tokyo to Yamagata ?
2. Yamagata to Aomori ?
3. Aomori back to Tokyo ?
This new service just went online July 1. Maybe someone else already posted about it, but I thought it was worth putting it up.
http://www.japanrail.com/ - in the middle of the page there is a link for "New Timetable"
I will be visiting Japan for the first time in February 2008. I will be spending about 4 days in Tokyo, and was thinking of going to the base of Mt Fuji, for 2 days (1 night). I was thinking of either going to Fuji-Go-Ko, or to Hakone. Is either one of these a quiet place? and being a lone female (although experienced) traveller is one area safer and easier to get to from Tokyo?
Also any recommendations on accommodation would also be handy.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I've always wanted to go to Japan, and I think it is the right time to do it. However, the tickets I've seen are around 850-900 €. I guess it's fine as it is the european summer/school break. Anyway, as I do not have a constraint on time, would anyone know when does the flight cost traditionally goes lower? BTW, I am based in Geneva.
I'd be going to Tokyo-Kyoto/Nara for 1-1/2 week to 2 weeks. While I am not adverse on going on winter, I'd like to avoid the typhoon season.
Any ideas then ?
…
Could anyone offer advice on what would be a realistic daily budget for Japan (not including accomodation). We are three girls spending a week there (although this includes two days in Nikko). We plan on doing things as cheap as possible, going to see all the free sites etc but want to enjoy ourselves at the same time.
Thanks for any advice x
We are arriving in Osaka by plane on Thursday 9 August, with bikes packed ready to go cycle touring. We want to start in Hokkaido for climatic reasons, then work our way south, so are looking for the best way to travel between Osaka and Sapporo (or anywhere else in Hokkaido for that matter). We'd been planning to catch an overnight train, but notice that due to the earthquake, this service is out of action until 10 August.
Does anyone have any advice on:
- will the trains be up and running…
hey all -
my partner and i are intending to travel to Japan this November, and then onto South Korea by sea. Therefore, we won't have return tickets booked (we're aussie and flying in from Sydney).
does anyone know what the implications of this may be upon our arrival in Osaka? I know that we don't need to get a visa before we leave Australia, and upon my previous trip it was no problem getting my entry stamp etc - but that time I had my onward trip booked.
also, does anyone know what the best way…
I'm trying to get tickets to the baseball for a friend's going away present. He is moving to Kobe shortly and I'm struggling to find out how to order tickets in Australia. Any advice?? To be completely honest it does not even have to be baseball...how do I get tickets online for sumo wrestling or any sporting event in Kobe or Osaka? Appreciate any advice!!!
My partner and I are thinking of heading to Japan at the beginning of November. Its the first trip for both of us, unfortunately we only have 7 days available for the trip. We are aware we will only get a taster of Japan on such a short time frame. Suggestions for an itinenary would be gratefully received! We are thinking of mainly basing ourselves in Kyoto, but spending a day or two in Tokyo. Also possibly fitting a day trip to Hiroshima/Nara. We are happy flying into either Tokyo or Osaka…
We're planning a trip to Japan for Jan08 for a few weeks, and we'd like to spend about a week snowboarding.
We're looking for somewhere easy to travel to, with english speaking snowboarding teachers, and reasonably priced accomodation.
Any hints would be really appreciated!!
