Is this Itinerary too crazy? Should I take out Miyajima and hiroshima? I originally planned for just Tokyo and Kyoto, but Miyajima looked interesting so I added it after about a week after buying my plane ticket.
I already booked my hotels and everything.

Tokyo Day 1 (sat)
Sensō-ji and Asakusa Shrine
Ueno Onshi Park
Nezu Shrine
Edo Tokyo Museum
Shinjuku

Tokyo Day 2 (sun)
Center Gai
Shibuya Crossing Intersection
Tokyo MetropolitanBuilding
Shibuya

Kyoto Day 1 (mon)
Higashiyama Jisho-ji

Hey Thorn Tree!

I'm writing something about my recent month spent in Japan, and I've got a question I hope you guys can help me out with. It's not travel-related, but Thorn Tree is my go-to for questions relating to places.

Is Shintoism a word? When I write it, I feel like I'm writing Christianityism or Buddhismism. The only mention I can find of it anywhere is on blogs written by tourists and dictionary websites. Even the spellchecker accepts it, but I feel like they're all wrong!

Hi
I’ll be next August in Japan during Bon vacation.
Do you have any suggestion where I could scape the crowds during those days?
Many thanks in advance,

So I'm heading off to Japan in a few months time, at the end of April. I was sad to miss the most of Hanami viewing season so I have plans to travel to Hirosaki in Aomori to see the cherry blossoms when they bloom there in late April. Now one of the things I really wanted to try were the cherry blossom themed foods at Starbucks and Mcdonalds etc but read that they only stay in stores until mid March. I was wondering if this applies to the Northern prefectures of Japan as their Hanami season does…

Hey guys I'm planning on going on a trip during early July through to mid-July and I've have had my eye on Japan for a long time. But I'm reluctant to go as I've seen the weather is bad. I can handle the extreme heat as I've lived in Sri Lanka and Australia but I'm more concerned about the rain. Like whether or not I'll be able to walk around and enjoy the sites and what not. It'll be great if you'll can help with this matter of mine thanks! Also if you'll have any other suggestions on where to…

Hi ^^
Next month I'm going to visit my boyfriend who lives in Japan for 1 year due to study issues.
I have a chronic illness and I also am organ transplanted, which means I need continuous medical treatment.
I'm staying for 3 weeks, so i don't need a "Yakkan Shoumei". But as far as I understood using Google, I need a medical certification from my doctor which contains a list of all the different drugs I need.
I do not need any anesthetics, narcotics or psychotropic substances.

Does anyone know…

Would greatly appreciate feedback and suggestions on how many nights to spend in each place and whether we can consolidate a little. We have a 5 yr old and 1 yr old. Planning on catching train most places but wouldn't mind being able to hire a car at some stage for fun (would love suggestions on where we could do some driving in our itinerary).
Would love suggestions on whether we could find more 'bases' so we're not travelling so frequently with kids and suitcases. We love doing half day walks…

We are leaving for Japan in October for a 3 week trip. The intention is to use a 14 day JR pass and for our last 6 days walk part of Kumano Kodo (Kii-Tanabe to Nachi Taisha).

We don't mind temples/castles/museums,etc but would rather pick a few and be happy with that. These days we prefer sitting/walking somewhere and watch the locals at work/play, see nature, interesting architecture, eat/drink interesting things, etc.

With that in mind is this itinerary too much and are we going about it the…
