#8 Tanukis are dogs. They just look like racoons. The fact that they're dogs made me wonder if they could be domesticated.

I'd love to see a real tanuki, if only because there aren't any tanukis in the U.S. of course, and tanukis are an ubiquitous part of Japanese culture ( Anyone see "PomPoko"? ). But in the two long times I've
been to Mitaka I wasn't able to spot any.
