I'm planning on flying to Japan from Thailand in October, as my second stop on a long trip around Asia. I'm looking for someone to travel around with there, since there aren't so many backpackers wondering the streets like in other countries on my list. (I'm 23, by the way...)
Also, I'd be happy to get info about places/youth hostles I can go to where there are a lot of backpackers to be met :)

I recently stayed at Nikko Park Lodge and it was really easy to get into conversations with other people staying there. Very friendly place, I recommend it if you're thinking of visiting Nikko.

I stayed at the Nikko Park Lodge in January 2006 myself. That was the greatest experience I ever had in accomodations. Really recommend staying there because they take care of you so well. The kind staff are friendly, cool, English speaking, just a very comfortable loose place to be. Gotta to hang out with Ken the owner!!!
