Hi, i am currently planning on a 10 day trip for 2 to the Kansai and Chubu region from 11/12/17 to 21/12/17.
My friend and i are interested in hiking (Beginner/amateur) , nature etc. and would like to visit an onsen too. We are university students with a budget of around 2000-2500 SGD (Or 1500-2000 USD) , including lodgings and transportation.
Planning on using the "Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass" for the first 5 days.
The current plan is as follows (Haven't gotten down to the daily itinerary for each cities yet) :
(11/12) Day 1: Osaka (KIX)
(12/12) Day 2: Osaka (Early morning) > Kyoto
(13/12) Day 3: Kyoto
(14/12) Day 4: Kyoto (Morning) > Kanazawa (Explore) > go Shirakawago, stay there. (Coin lockers at kanazawa)
(15/12) Day 5: Shirakawago (Most of the day/ or Morning) >Bus> Takayama (Just for the transfer or should I explore Takayama?) > Nagoya (Stay)
(Must reach Nagoya by day 5 to make full use of the Pass.)
(16/12) Day 6: Nagoya > Kiso valley (Is one day enough?) (Or somewhere else Nagoya)
(17/12) Day 7: Kiso valley
(18/12) Day 8: Kiso valley> Kofu city, Yumara onsen, other onsen recommendations? ( Kofu mainly for shosenkyo gorge)
(19/12) Day 9: Kofu city (Early morning) >Tokyo
(20/12) Day 10 : Tokyo
(21/12) Day 11: Tokyo (Fly home, if flight is at night, place luggage in lockers and explore Tokyo)
Any passes for Kiso > Kofu > Tokyo? Any passes for each individual places that i would probably need? Etc. Osaka city pass.
Are the aforementioned destinations recommended to travel during mid-late December?
Any locations that are better alternatives to the ones listed? (Eg. "Skip so and so and go here instead")
Is the budget of 2000 to 2500 SGD still possible? (Trip to Tokyo was not taken into account before) Unsure if there are cheaper accommodations for mountainous areas such as shirakawago, kiso valley.
Thank you all for your time and i am looking forward to all your insights! :)
