Me and my girlfriend will go to japan in august for 3 weeks . I have a few questions:

1. is it possible to check in a business hotel or hostel (single) room with 2 persons for the same rate as one ?
2. do we need advance reservations for ccomodation in japan for august ?
3. what is the price for cigarettes in japan

It depends, but in my experience, usually not. It might be easier at ryokans run by families, though. Theyre usually more relaxed. <BR><BR>2. Where in Japan? Its a bit iffy, especially if your trip coincides with the obon festival (mid August).

3. Usually around ��350, depending on the brand (this is from when I was there last, in January).

If the business hotel is a disguised "love hotel", no problem as price is by the room. Otherwise, they will try to sell you two single rooms, a double room or charge you "single room double usage" at check-in.
