Thanks

Yes I know there's so much more to the country. This is more of a taster trip considering it's rather short.

At the moment I can either do the Hiroshima round trip, or do an overnight stay in Koyasan temple during one of the Osaka days.

Alternatively I can do Osaka, then Koyasan, then to Kyoto, except I'd be dragging my luggage back and forth.

It's quite hard to decide really.

edit: Decided to do Koyasan now.

You have the same travel dates as me LOL! I think this looks good. Maybe you use one of the Kyoto dates to visit Uji, it's very charming. Miyajima has lots of hostels like "Hostel & Cafe Backpackers" so you should be okay. My itinerary is not there yet but I'll be going to Nikko for sure, they have amazing autumn leaves and great onsen! Have you thought about Kanazawa? Have a lovely time.

Haha small world.
I will have a look at the places you mentioned!

I end up doing overnight in koyasan in a temple. I think the experience would be more different than other stuff

I hope you have all your accommodation booked by now - you are coming during the one of the busiest seasons of the year (especially for Kyoto) which will make finding budget accommodation difficult, if not impossible.

Yeah Tokyo is the hardest one. The cheap ones look well dodgy
