My favourite restaurant in Tokyo is Fujimamas, near Ometesando station. Got the recommendation from this board prior to our trip, and we made the journey from Asakusa to have dinner here. Soft landing into Japan, as the menu is in English and is Japanese-fusion (I had the pork with miso apple mash - divine). Liked it so much, we ate there again on our last night. Not that expensive either. Good choice if you want a slight smarter or cooler evening out, and the area is great for shopping - particularly the Oriental Bazaar which is close by and basically your one-stop shop for tourist souvenirs. Fujimamas has a website so you can check the menu out for yourself. Also does great saki-based cocktails.
