hello,

For our next destination we need the lonely planet of Cambodia. Does anybody know a place in Tokyo to buy it?

Thanks,

Menno

There's a large Kinokuniya bookstore close to Shinjuku station. The English section is on the 5th or 6th floor of a large building, and is a little bit tricky to find, but it has, as far as I'm aware, the largest selection of English books anywhere in Japan. I'm fairly sure they sell Lonely Planets there, but it's been awhile since I was last in that bookshop.

I'm sure there are other bookstores in Tokyo with Lonely Planets, but I'm not that familiar with the city. Junkudo's another major bookstore chain in Japan that you might want to look into. Or maybe someone more familiar with Tokyo than me has alternative suggestions...

Learn all about the island of Awaji, the largest island in Japan's Inland Sea. You can contact me through that website, if you wish.
Also, Japan's architectural and historic heritage.

Maruzen near Tokyo station (Oazu building near the Marunouchi north exit) will have it. Nihombashi Maruzen probably would too. (from memory exit 3 of the subway, but check)
Kinokuniya in Shinjuku - Shinjuku dori not far from the north exit. (The one near the South exit downsized and I can't remember if the foreign books are still there.)
Junkudo in Ikebukuro towards On Meiji dori going towards Shinjuku out the Seibu east exit of JR.

I would try an omnipresent book off to see if you can get one used. You would save a lot of money. They do have english sections.

Amazon Japan has 4 copies in stock at 2,374 yen. Go to www.amazon.co.jp, switch to English and search. If you take out free 30-day Prime membership, you can have the book delivered to your hotel for free the same-day.

You probably want one before you get there, but if you can't, then don't worry as they are readily available from street sellers all over tourist areas.

Beware, most are counterfeit. Fairly good quality photocopies of the original, but poor quality bindings. Bargaining gets them very cheap, using them gets them to fall apart.
