I have done a lot of research on the internet and am a little bit confused!
We are a family of four. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 8.
We are in Beijing as a very short stopover for 3 nights and are staying in an AirBNB.
We are just about to apply for our visa's. L type visa I believe is the one we need.
My question is - do we all need an invitation letter?
And if so, how do i obtain one if I'm not staying in a hotel / hostel.

I have a 10 year L visa to China good until 2026. It has multiple entries, but each entry is limited to just 60 days.
I could do a visa run at the 60-day mark (go to the nearest border crossing, exit China, then re-enter China minutes later), but given my itinerary that is inconvenient.
So I'm wondering if there is a way to get an extension to the 60 day stay?

Hi, I'll be travelling through China in August with the family (kids 14 and 15) and would like to hear from your experiences.
We have three and a half weeks to spend and we'll be travelling by train, sleepers whenever possible.
We'll fly to/from Xi'an and plan to visit at least Zhangjiajie, Guilin and Beijing. Other options are Chendu, Wuhan and Hangzhou.

Doing some research on Loulan it seems that some travellers have been able to visit Loulan. No mentioning of costs or whether they used a travel agent though. I also read there should be buses from Ruoqiang which could mean it is opening up.
Any recent info to share on this??

hi, im planning on traveling to china.im a photographer and usually i rent a car and driver for like 20 days and is the best way for me to visit the places i have planned but its a little strange about china that i have emailed many agancies and they are not familiar with long distance car-driver rental. the just told me 100$ per day for 100km which on my plan the km should be much more. any suggestions? by the way this my itinerary:
