travel gear in Beijing?

There is a shop that sells outdoor gear on the left hand side of the south gate of chaoyang park (a big park between the third and 4th ring roads on the east side). There is a much smaller version of the same shop just beside Guo Mao (China World). I don't know the name of the shop but it is bright yellow and says something like 'Outdoor' on it in English. There is also some bid chain store in Beijing (decathoalon) that might sell that kind of stuff. Don't know where it is though.

If Beijing is like Shanghai - all the big department stores should have a North Face/Columbia/Ozark outdoor equipment/apparel section.

There's also one in the lane beside Winns Framing shop, opposite East gate of Worker's Stadium.

yes, Beijing is same to Shanghai. The shop which others have mentioned names Sanfo, it's a good shop.

Are you considering buying it in China to save money? I am not sure that this will be the case.
