Hello travellers,
next august, we'll arrive in late evening to Lanzhou, and we'd like to hire before a car with driver to start next morning a 3days/2 nights trip to Biglingi, Linxia, Xiahae and surroundings...
Any information about how to do it?
We google a lot, but is no t possible to find a travel agency with it's mail!
Thanks a lot

David

Binglingsi and Xiahe are point destinations. You will need transport to them but not in them. There are some grasslands near Xiahe but most of the activity that people want is right in the center of town/monastery.

Linxia on the other hand is a sprawling valley with points of interest all throughout it. Make sure you get a driver who knows the area and either knows what to show you or that you have an itinerary of what you want to do there. It's fascinating but not something where you hop out of a bus and are there like the previous 2.

Binglingsi is in Linxia,from lanzhou to Liujiaxia reservoir,need 1.5 hours.and then take a boat, 30 yuan/per,,,,toaday,Your round-trip, about 7 - 8 hours.
from lanzhou to xiahe,230km,you need 4 hours.

Doing all this in 3 days/2 nights is stretching it, you may have to settle for just passing through Linxia without much time there. Otherwise, you need 4 days/3 nights to properly round-trip this out of Lanzhou. Just google for agents if you want something set up for you--here's one example: http://www.china-tour.cn/Lanzhou-Tours/
Of course you'll pay a lot more than if you use public transport but that's the price of flexibility and convenience.

Hi, I am happy to hear that you will travel in my city. Actually, my advice is you can hire a driver and a car, making you own travel plan. The normal price for per day is around 200-300 yuan equals to 25-35 Euro per day. It is more convenient for your guys. The English speaking in Lanzhou is actually less than you think. I am not sure whether you already book the car or agent. But the best way is hire a driver and a car, or using public transport which take a long time. Unfortunately, my parents will visit me in other country in coming August, but i still can help you ask my friends whether you can translate to you or something. If you still need help, you can send me email for more details. my email address is (removed)

Good luck and have fun in China and Lanzhou.
