Hi everybody

We plan to travel in Yushu area this August. Does anybody know if there are currently any travel restrictions/ areas closed to foreigner around there?
What about accommodations taking foreigners or not? In the Amdo Area of Gansu we had some hassels about many basic hotels not accepting foreigners, whereas when wie travelled overland from Yunnan to Sichuan through Kham territory (Litang, Daocheng...) it was quite easy (all done in 2013). Does anybody know how the situation is currently around Yushu?
Thanks for any information about this!

As of last year I had lots and lots of trouble finding reasonably-priced hotels in Qinghai. Beautiful countryside, stunning really, but such a hassle looking for a hotel. Made me feel very unwelcome. (Though this was not around Yushu, which I'd visited long before.)

See if there's anything on The Land of Snows web site.

I looked it up there but I didn't find anything...
Because most of the posts date from 2-3 years ago, I was not sure if it is really all up to date. I try to contact the owner by contact form with the same question but did not get any answer yet.
But the web site is really nicely done with beautiful pics and a lot of useful information!
But thank you anyway!
