Im going to Shanghai for a week and I would like to know where the main bars, clubs and restaraunt district is? For example, in Hong Kong it is LKF. Is there somewhere similar in Shanghai.
Plus, is there somewhere similar in Beijing.
Hoping, you will know the areas i am looking to based around (see above), would you also be able to recommend cheap accomodation in those areas too;

It really depends on what you're looking for in terms of bars/restaruants/people/money spent.

WARNING -- RANT ON THE HORIZON:
I don't know Shanghai well but I found the Bund to be a major disappointment, having had it hyped up to me for many years before I finally visited. There's about 3 very nice bits of colonial architecture across the river from a weird maoist tv tower and a Shangri-La hotel. You can cross the Huang Pu river there by a weird driverless monorail that goes through a tunnel under the river and is a kind of psychedelic fair ground ghost train.
Anyway, the bars in the Bund are very chic and EXTREMELY expenisve -- as much or more than LKF prices. One of them is run by Michelle Garnaut who along with her sister was instrumental in getting LKF going about 15-20 years ago.

Myanmar - yeah, but as a bar/restaurant district, the Bund is pretty tops - if you have the cash (and the OP didn't specifiy). Glamour Bar is the IT bar of the moment (so that means the internet is full of people disparaging it), all the restuarants at 3 on the Bund (Fenestre, Jean-Georges, M's on the Bund) plus all the bars in the area . . .
And I think they're a lot more than places some places in LKF, but not as pricey as others (dragon-i, Kee Club, California 5 years ago, etc.)

There's a few more that I missed (and a few outliers as well) -
Fuxing Park - has all the LKF bars and restaurants, as well as the once-hot Guandii
Bonbon - great place if you're 18 and into hip hop. I, not because I'm 18, but I am into hip hop.
There's some more bars on Tongren Lu North of Nanjing Road too - Malone's, the Spot, Mint.
The good thing about Shanghai is for as big as it is, the parts which are relevant to visitors are relatively compact. So you could stay anywhere and be within a 12-15 RMB cab ride.

The area around Julu Lu and Fumin Lu has come up again recently - used to be trashy bars but it's imprved of late. It also tends to avoid the slighly toursity/businessman feel of the Bund bars (though i must admit to a liking for Glamour Bar). As Astroboy says the nice thing about Shanghai is that it is pretty quick and cheap to get around at night by cab, compared to say Beijing.
I also love Velvet Lounge, Tara, People 7, JZ Club, Cotton Club.....
