Hi,
Just finding it quite hard to do a search, but I will be travelling to a small village called Lianjiao in the Foshan Nambai district. I will be flying in to Guangzhou and was wondering if anyone can advise on the best way to get from there to Foshan.
How long would it take if I was to drive or is a train more advisable? Am not great with distances so can't quite tell how long this trip would take me.
Any advice and help would be great.
Thank you

It's only a 30 minute to an hour bus ride from Guangzhou.
There's a provincial bus station about 2 blocks (very big blocks) west of the Guangzhou train station. There should also be direct buses (or minibuses) from the GZ airport to Foshan. and the trip shouldn't take more than a couple of hours.

Thank you for your help Astroboy. We are hoping to drive so it's good to know that the distance isn't too long.

For ease, take a taxi. It's not far. You certainly won't be doing any of your own driving unless you have a Mainland China driving license. International licenses are not valid.

you know, that's not a bad idea at all. long distance taxis aren't really that pricey in guangdong - and foshan isn't that far away. I guess I naturally defer to the bus, because I was living in Guangzhou as a teacher at the time, and 8RMB on a bad bus was preferable to 100RMB in a cab. But now, I'd probably go with the cab.
