hi. we plan to visit harbin this dec. we will be leaving from beijing. what is the best way to go there? by plane or by train, how many hours travel time? also, what are the things to se in harbin. thanks

Any reason for visiting then? Most people go to Harbin for the ice festival which I think (could be wrong) starts in January.

Train or flying are both possibilities. Depends on your time constraints.

Overnight train is the best way. Train speeds are due to upgrade again soon (18/4) so any answers about train journey duration now would be out-of-date by then.
Yes, the Snow and Ice festivals all start in January, I think.
OP, you're going there and you don't know why you're going there? Read up a bit, it's not exactly a very obscure destination.
