Hello !
Has anyone climbed to the summit of Haba Snow Mountain in the Yunnan province ? Does anyone have any idea what the weather is like in this area in late October ? It is really difficult to find any good information on this mountain on the internet. Any good links would be highly appreciated !

If i not remember wrong it is the mountain in Tiger leaping gorge. There is two actually, one is yu long snow mountain the other is haba snow mountain.
So search on tiger leaping gorge and i guess you will find more information. Why haba? meli snow mountain is yunnan's highest and in my opinion more interesting.

It's just a little bit too cold and the road is about to(not necessarily) get closed in late October, while the best time for Haba Snow Mt. is May ~Sept. An adventurous trek to the Haba Summit takes around 6 days, recommend you start with a warm-up trekking from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Haba Village, then climb up to the mountain
Phase I - Tiger Leaping Gorge to Haba Village
D1: Qiaotou-> Nuoyu Village-> 28 Turns-> Halfway Guesthouse
D2: Halfway Guesthouse ->Middle Rapids -> Tina's -> Walnut Grove (Woody)
D3: Walnut Grove -> Haba Village(2800m)

Phase II - Haba Village to Haba Snow Mt. (Horse & guide can be hired in Haba Village, Y100/day total)
D4: Haba Village-> Base Camp (4200m) 6-8hrs
D5: Base Camp--C1(4800m)--Summit(5396m)--Base Camp
D6: Base Camp--Haba Village, take a bus to Baishuitai
D7: Bus from Baishuitai back to Lijiang or further northern to Zhongdian
