Hello!

I will be in Northern Vietnam at the end of April and would like to make my way to Hong Kong through the Chinese-Vietnamese Border. It's my understanding that you don't need a Visa to visit Hong Kong... if I want to cross the border though, I will need one, correct? Any information is helpful as this is a last minute addition.

You'll need to be in possession of a Chinese visa when you get to the China/Vietnam border.

Hong Kong & China are two different places no matter what the pollies say. "ONE COUNTRY - TWO SYSTEMS".. You need a visa for Chine if you are entering China.

You will need to apply for a visa for China in advance before you get anywhere near the border. The most likely probabilities for you to get a visa would either be Hanoi or in your own country.
Cheers!
