Hello !

Does anyone one how long time it takes to get a visa to China in Bangkok for me as a european ? Do they need to keep my passport for a certain time ( hours,days ?) in order to process the visa ?. What would the total cost be ?

Yes, you need to leave your passport with them for the duration of the visa application.
This should answer all your other questions.
