Hello fellow travellers,

Do you have any recommendations about accommodation in Beijing? I will be there for 2-3 nights so I guess I need a place close to the sightseeings. Thank you!

What's your budget? What style are you looking for? Hotel? Hostel? Etc...

You're right... Preferably low budget, a hostel or Airbnb and I want to mingle with the locals - experience their lifestyle and daily customs

What is 'low budget?'

150RMB
300RMB
500RMB
1000RMB?

What are you planning on seeing when you are there? Beijing is huge, and while the subway cuts through traffic, it still can take an hour to get where you are going.

Do you want a room or a bed
Ensuite bathroom or shared

Do you want a traditional or photraditional courtyard or a more modern building, perhaps with a photraditional lobby or in a historic neighborhood?

You only find photraditional places in Vietnam, notwithstanding the French heritage.

#3, the first and second definitely for a low budget traveller. Or at least to a fellow low budget traveller.

Last fall, I stayed at the Happy Dragon Saga Youth Hostel. I thought it was a good hostel - clean, reasonable prices and good location. I met many travelers that raved about the Leo Hostel. I will stay there this September. Go to booking.com or hostelworld.com to check them out. Beijing has such a good subway system that you can stay almost anyplace in the city and get around easily by subway.

Dear, in Beijing city, I suggest to try the traditional Beijing "SIHEYUAN 四合院"style hotel, some of them are quite worth to live in.
