does the Indian railway take credit cards or is it strictly cash?
odd q maybe but i don't see it addressed in guidebooks.
I'm off to Kathmandu next week and am keen to do the mountain flight over Everest. I tried to reserve my seat on the site http://www.mountainflights.com and although they say they get back to you within 24 hours; it's been over 5 days and I have heard nothing. Anyone had a similar problem? Any suggestions?
Ive heard that its so poluted and spoilt now its not worth seeing?
Can anyone who has been there lately tell me if this is true?
Is it true that the hiking tracks are dirty and the water is poluted and the general amenity is no longer what it once was?
- I recently took a bus from Lahore, Pakistan to Amritsar, India. The bus service is run by Pakistan Tourist Corporation & also goes to Delhi. Similarly, buses run from Delhi & Amritsar to Lahore, as well. The bus ride to Amritsar was 3.5 hours, distance of 60KM including immigration/customs clearence on both sides. does anyone know if there are still tribes in Chittagong Hills area who are using bows and arrows for hunting and other ancient traditional ways of life?
Where are they and how can I get there? I know there are some tours off Chittagong, can you please recommend someone?

I am travelling through india soon and I was wondering if booking hotel reservations ahead of time is necessary? can we go to city to city and find accomodations each night without hassle? we are not looking for anything special to stay at. some place clean. we are going to agra, bombay,goa.
from delhi, how long does it take to take a train to bombay and goa? then again from delhi to nepal? and delhi to dramasala? how is the train travel? what pitfalls will we find with train travel?
