Hello,

Due to some issues at the embassy, I know have fewer days available for a trip to Darjeeling than originally planned. I'm wondering how far I can travel in West Bengal in one day coming in from the Bhutanese border at Phuentsholing / Jaigaon. Do you think it is possible to get all the way to Siliguri or even Darjeerling in one day using public transport (trains, jeeps, buses, rickshaws)? Uber may be an option as well if not too expensive but I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to do…

I'm generally able to find what I want online, but for Hyderabad I'm seeing a lot of LARGE hotels and hotels far from the center. But I'd like a recommendation for a (preferably midrange) hotel in or very near the old city and, if possible, something with more character and intimacy than one of the big chains. I'm interested in Hyderabad (my first time but 6th time in India) for what remains of its more traditional Muslim(as well as Hindu) character, not for the modern high-tech stuff.

I only have 8-9 days total in Nepal and was thinking of going to Pokhara for the entire trip. I posted earlier, looking for non-touristy villages that a guide could perhaps shuttle me to every day from a base in Pokhara (Not a fan of large tourist areas). If I fly to KTM should I fly direct to Pokhara or take a bus on the dirt roads? Would I miss much scenery by flying (Safety of both is consideration assuming flying is actual safer)? Is it easy to get out of the tourist areas of Pokhara? Is…

Hi there, I have been granted an 30 day tourist e-visa to India that expires on the date we are due to arrive in the country. I assume that you can arrive up to and including the date of Expiry, but not after this. Or are you only allowed to arrive between the start date and the e-visa Expiry date? In other words up to but not including the expiry date?

Not able to get a straight answer from the e-visa help desk, so should i re-apply?

Kind regards,
@KR

Hi all,

I'm sure similar questions have been asked many times before, but we're trying to fit in a mixture of sights, sea and mountains, plus an experience of Mumbai, into a short time frame. This is what I've come up with so far:

0 Heathrow to Mumbai, 20.40 – …
1 … – 11.15. To Thiruvanathapuram (internal flight)
2 Thiruvananthapuram to Varkala
3 Varkala
4 Varkala
5 Varkala to Kollam
6 Kollam to Alappuzha
7 Alappuzha
8 Alappuzha to Munnar
9 Munnar to Kochi
10 Kochi
10 Kochi to Mumbai
11 Mumbai
12 Mumbai
13…

Hello,

Having just booked return flights to Delhi for summer 2020, I am considering making my way via Amritsar to Lahore in Pakistan. I am UK passport holder.
Could someone clarify in a straightforward way if I am considering something that's feasible from a transport and personal safety point of view.
Visiting Pakistan would fulfill a long-held travel ambition.
Thank you.

Hi there,

I am flying to India for 2 months in January. I want to definitely visit Kerala, goa, Mumbai, Delhi, golden triangle and Rajasthan. I would also like to do a week long ashram. Do I also have time to visit Tamil Nadu? I am trying to work out where to fly into. Either Chennai or kochin.

I think I am going to be pushed for time and worry that also adding Tamil Nadu will be a step too far.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated

I have been to Nepal before.. and just fell in love with the people.. I spent some time in Pokhara.. but it was May.. and there was very poor visibility and a lot of rain. I have a month to spend there but I have injured my toes so I am unable to do any trekking and not very much walking. I am looking to find somewhere to write a bit and enjoy the scenery- what do people think? I have travelled solo and used the buses previously and am not nervous about being alone- does anyone have any advice?

Hello travelers,

I am flying to Kathmandu on 20 October and have time until Christmas. My plan is to do either Annapurna Circuit or Manaslu Circuit (or some combination if its not too much), then I think it would be worth to stay in Nepal for some time - was thinking of going to Bardia national park. Bardia seems wonderfully combinable with Karnali rafting, if it wasnt for the rafting trip price (700 $?!). After that, most likely India for the time left (Gaya, Andaman, Kerala?).

I am used to…
