my domestic Indigo flight reached kolkata @3:40 PM after covering 2h 20 min flight time from Hyderabad. My train from Howrah jn platform # 17 is @ 5:30 PM. What is ideal way to reach station early or what should be alternative ?

Hello, I have had a search but I am still none the wiser and a tad confused about the best way to get around the route I had planned?
Any suggestions on transportation would be most appreciated and we are happy to edit our route if it seems tedious and too much travel, not enough sightseeing!

1- Is there any accommodation available in Minimarg, if we get the permission/NOC?
2- If we dont get any accommodation, can we visit Minimarg from Astore and get back to Astore by the evening/late evening?

Hey all!

Been to India many many times and lots of experience riding an Enfield.

I'm planning to meet my wife in Srinigar, spend a couple days there, rent an Enfield 500 and drive to Leh, maybe a couple stops along the way. Will have about 8 days in total before my wife needs to head home and I'll stick around a bit and trek etc etc.

Is Srinigar to Leh a nice way to start? I'd prefer Manali to Leh but seems with flying in and altitude, Srinigar might be an easier start.

I motorbiked from Manali to Leh a while back, and I saw a lot of groups of young Indian men travelling together. They all had the himalayan flags on their bikes. My question is, is travelling to that part of india on a motorbike a rite of passage? Is it a common destination or goal after graduation to go on a road trip? Has anyone been to Takht-i-Bahi, close to Peshawar? I am not at all sure I can get there but on the off chance that I can, any info would be really appreciated.
