where to stay overnight before leaving from SL????

Hi folks
The last part of my trip to SL it is gonna be Kandy area. From there I will be heading towards airport from where I am flying home early morning. Therefore I think it is a good idea to find accommodation for the last night possibly close to the airport just to get there within several minuts and avoid stress.
Do you know something reasonable???

If you google 'negombo hotels' you will get many hits, most of them for hi priced hotels.

When this question has come up earlier at this site, many many recommends for Silver Sands Hotel, very cheap!, has been given. Just google the name w/ Negomob and you can get to their site---and their e-mail address.

Also,I think the Beach Hotel has beem recommended.

There is also an airport hotel----google for that.

I always stay at Silver Sands at the end of a visit - excellent place. Nothing flash, but simple, clean and friendly and decent food too. They will arrange transport to the airport if necessary (at any hour) and wake you up at any stupid time in the night if you have an early flight.

www.silversands@go2lk.com . I was last there in April, a room is from about 900 Rupees - usually negotiable unless it is busy such as Christmas. I have been staying there since 1998- it is a favourite with TT people.

I have an early morning flight too at the end of our trip and I've been thinking about going to Negombo or stay at the airport. Have to be at the airport by 6:30ish. Does anyone know a reasonable priced nice airport hotel? Anyone stayed at the Tamarind Tree?

Lucek, if you have enough time for the flight, I'd say it's better to stay in negombo. When's your flight?

Taj Airport Garden Motel is goodo if you can afford it (approx US $75). they also offer free transport to the airport at any time to suit you
