Trekking between Makalu and Everest (the hard way)Country forums / Indian Subcontinent / Nepal
Hi All. I am organising a trek between Tumlingtar to Lukla with a couple of friends in October 2018. Currently we are three guys with one other about to commit and a female who wishes to take part but would prefer to have another famale in the group. This trek heads North from Tumligtar up to Makalu base camp, past the high camps and Westwards towards island peak and then down towards Lukla. The trek is due to take 25 days. This trek is not for the beginer, it is at very high altitude and is camping most of the way. You need to be an experienced trekker with high altitude experience. If you are up to it and fancy doing a trek in the Himalayas which is arduous and off the beaten track, with views to die for and the peacefulness offered by trekking in very remote valleys.. no noisy trekkers for miles. then do get in touch. We hope to get around 8-10 as a maximum group size. This is being organised through a local company which is run by an ex army Ghurka who has extensive knowledge of this region. he has completed this trek a few years back. Paul.
