Im thinking of visiting Hunza in 2016 either from Kashgar or Islamabad. For safety concern and often cancelled flights I'll probably go from Kashgar but when is the season with fewer landslide and less rain? Thanks
Hello mate | 1 | |
Firstly, there is no airport at Hunza, you have to fly to Gilgit and travel from there a few hours by road. In my opinion, the best time to visit Hunza, weatherwise would be Sep/Oct, dry, pleasant temps and glorious Autumn colours. | 2
thanks a lot for the feedback steweu and SpankingSteve! Can't wait to explore ! | 3
May is also a great time to visit Hunza as well as the the rest of Gilgit-Baltistan region. | 4
I am thinking about June. Do you guys know any good tour packages? Thanks Shandur | 5
June is also a great time to be in Hunza.Hunza (Karimabad) is full of tour operators, you 'll have no problem to choose one. | 6
July and August are rainy season in the Karakorams and some part of Himalaya, if you are looking for doing some trekking in Hunza then May and June would be the best month. Happy Travel | 7
I was stuck in Tashkurgan wanting to head south for 7 days this August due to a landslide causing the closure of the KKH. | 8
Yes #Mark0007 in August a heavy flood washed some part of the KKH from Khunjerab Pass to Sost, i was traveling there at the time. it was horrible | 9
