SANASA is a hugely successful Sri Lankan grassroots organisation that needs teaching volunteers for its education campus in the lush province of Kegalle (home of the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage). In exchange for teaching (up to 30 hours with 2 consecutive days off p/w), volunteers are provided with full board (delicious traditional Sri Lankan food) and accommodation (simple, clean, modern rooms with balconies overlooking tropical woodland and wildlife). SANASA has received a number of extremely satisfied volunteers over the years (including me) and staff are really appreciative of the contributions they have made. This is a small-scale, unique and extremely rewarding volunteering opportunity. Start dates are flexible.
