Negombo budget guest house,

Hi all , ok further to advice received regards my arrival in Negombo late at night, can anyone recommend a nice clean budget guesthouse convenient to airport/transport onto Colombo e.g. train station ,

I assume that upon leaving airport I will be " advised" by hotel touts as to what are the "best places" so if anyone has any suggestion I'd appreciate them,

Also is it worth hanging around Negombo for any length of time , I'm probably going to stay one day just to relax & get over the flight then head onto Colombo & the cultural aspects ,

I'm not too bothered about sunbathing etc on the first day as I live near the beach in sydney !
I also appreciate there will be guest house owners who peruse this forum!

I arrived late in Negombo as well (2 am). And stayed at New Negombo Beach Hostel. It was a very cute little guesthouse, it's inexpensive and the people running it are very sweet. You can find them on Hostel World and Trip Adviser.
