Kathmandu and Pokhara Hotels

Hi,

We are currently deciding which hotel to stay in whilst in Kathmandu and Pokhara and currently shortlisted the following:

Kathmandu: Vaishili, Gangjong, Marcopolo, Grand, Malla

Pokhara: Kantipur, Fewa Prince

Does anyone have any views about these hotels (or maybe others which you`d like to recommend). The main charachteristics we are looking for are location, quietness, cleanliness and some degree of comfort.

Possible those hotel what you have been mentioned with the cost of US$ 35/= 1 double with B/B . also recommand hotel Shanker www.shankerhotel.com.np with cost of US$ 40/=

There is non-stop disco noise near the Vaishali at night (till the early hours). I've stayed there several times but wouldn't return. I also have to tell you that it's rare to access the hot water times and there's nothing worse than a cold shower when you're paying for hot ones. In addition, the breakfasts are woeful and I always go out to eat breakfast elsewhere.

If you mean the Lake Fewa hotel, Pokhara (also known as Mike's Breakfast) then it's great. It's right on the lake, quiet and has good food.

I would recommend “The Kathmandu View Hotel” for Kathmandu and Definitely “The Lake Diamond” for Pokhara
