Jiri accomodation

Country forums / Indian Subcontinent / Nepal

Anyone able to advise on the accomodation situation in Jiri (post earthquake)? Are there any/many lodges?

No problem for accommodation in Jiri at the movement.

Thanks v much. If you have a spare moment, do you have any recommendations for a specific place to stay (or not!).

There are three or more lodges in Jiri. I stayed in the Sherpa Guesthouse, newly rebuilt after the quake, and can recommend it.

I second this - there are less places to stay but still enough open that you won't have a problem. I find Jiri lodges to be the least nice of the whole trek - they are all pretty basic.

I would recommend Shangri-La lodge, small wooden building in middle of town on south side of road. Avoid Everest Guest House (pink high building on south side of road at start of town). I’ve stayed in both several times after earthquake.
