Hi there,

Just wanted to know if anyone else has faced problems in acquiring Indian visa from London? I am a British citizen of Pakistan Origin, my partner and my daughter have been granted their visas (Both British). So far I have been asked for my pakistani passport, letter of employment and a letter of invitation. We were planning to go to Goa and have been to the embassy 3 times already!!! It is quiet frustrating. Is this a norm at indian embassy?

Thanks,
Ash

Hi everyone,

Just thought I should add this:

Firstly, Indian embassy in London wanted to see my Pakistani passport, which I could'nt find, then they said I have to bring a report from the police, then I found the passport, then they made me fill 5 or 6 application forms....then they wanted a hotel booking...took that with me and they were still not satisfied and asked for an invitation letter....I don't even know anyone in Goa!!! We were going there for a holiday with our new baby...my partner (BTW him and my daughter got visas on the 1st day) got so fed up and told them to ** (Sorry) and we decided on Thailand which was out of this world!!!!

If applying take your pakistani passport ( I think...they have few entry airports that you have to fly into for security reasons...) Get a hotel booking, invitation letter, oh I forgot to mention earlier they needed a letter of employment from my company as well !@/;';[
*, fill all 5 original forms and 5 pasport pictures...who knows they might have added a few more things on that list so please check with them and last but not least prepare yourself to take time off from work, because you need to queue up early morning to get tickets to enter and then queue up again at 2pm to submit all paperwork.

I believe Pakistani embassy treats Indians wanting to visit Pakistan in same way...I sincerely hope all this has changed by now....because I would love to visit India soon.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERONE!!!
