Just an update that a poster has reported on the thread titled "GETTING A VISA FOR INDIA WHILE IN THAILAND " posted by WINDAISY (there is link on Thailand branch FAQ) that the visa section for the Bangkok embassy has been outsourced to a nearby office , and that they are charging a 500 baht outsource fee on top of the normal charges.
