| diskiantof16:53 UTC17 Sep 2007 | Hello there !!
Let's begin by telling you a bit about my life haha I'm a 26 year old french guy who has been travelling around New Zealand for about a year now. I have "settled down" three month ago in New Plymouth (Job, a rent, a vehicle...etc) This morning I received a phone call from the immigration office in order to let me know that my application for a work permit/visa has been declined as I am a part time worker !...I have to leave New Zealand before before the 02nd of october (Actually I've got a flight ticket on sunday with a stopover in Singapore)
It's been about two year that going to Nepal is one of my dream, finding a place where i could be useful (in a orphanage and so on I have a diploma in education and I used to work for several organizations which help disabled people, children...)
But my last researches about nepal are 2 year old, and my plane is on sunday.... I could get a plane from singapore to Kathmandu Here are my questions :
Is it still possible to get a visa at the airport of Kathmandu ? For how much ?
Being a young bloke who don't really bother with comfort, what kind of cheap accomodation would you advice me ? What would be the average price ?
Does anybody among people here who would know any organization which would be up for providing accomodation and/or food in exchange of volunteer work, or similar arrrangement (Orphanage, Hospice etc) ?
What is the current situation in Nepal ? Are the a fight between Maos and government still frequent ?
If you've got ay informations or tips which could be useful...Please don't hesitate at all !!!!
Thank you very very much
Christophe

- Yes, $30 US, should be paid in US dollars and is good for 60 days

-You can travel in Nepal for $15-20 pretty easily, rooms can be had for around $5

-I'm not familiar with any volunteer programs, try a search, alot of people ask this question.

-The Maoist are now at peace, they don't appear to be a problem anymore. Text
