Goa - how are the rents?

I'm thinking of coming to Goa for a few months this fall for some volunteer work (mayber October-December). I've heard prices can really change by season there but does anyone have any idea what I can rent a place for per month that time of year. Need to stay really budget conscious so no need to be sitting on top of the beach or anything like that.
