Between Varanasi & Hyderabad

I am planning to travel between Varanasi to Hyderabad.
Either by buses or trains, say if I have about 3 days between these 2 cities.
Any interesting towns or villages between the journey so that I could stay a night or 2 ?

The most direct way is probably via Jabalpur, close to the 'Marble Rocks' & Nagpur, close to Gandhi's ashram. There doesn't seem to be much else of note. A more circuitous route would pass through Aurangabad, rather than Nagpur.

You could try going to Bijapur or Gulbarga or Bidar -- apparently the Muslim monuments there are amazing.
