best mode of transport

Can anyone help me with modes of transport from colombo to arugam bay in september?

HI !

I think it is far more easy to travel by train from Colombo to Batticalao. There will be a good bus service from Batticalao to Arugambay. If this seem more time consuming you can easily get in to bus from Colombo ( Pettah bus turminal ). As far as I remember you have to take a bus to Poththuvil from Colombo.

Hi,

You can pursue 03 modes :

~ You can hire a private taxi. convenient yet costly than public transport
~ By bus : From Pettah bus station, take the bus to Pothuvil. From Pothuvil it's only about 3 kms to Arugam bay.
~ By train : From Colombo Fort railway station, take the train to Badulla. Then take either a bus or taxi from there. Train maybe the most interesting mode of transport, as you can see the natural beauty while travelling.

I hope you find this helpful.
Linton Fernando.
