Week #1: take the train to Anuradhapura. See cultural triangle and maybe Wilpattu national park, using public busses for transportation. Finish in Kandy.

end of dec, beg of Jan (HIGH SEASON!) I'll be backpacking with my wife, 1 yo baby and 5 yo child and we want to use the train more than car by driver.

We are lucky enough to have 5 weeks in Sri Lanka December- January this year and would very much prefer to book accom spontaneously as required- we hate schedules!!!!

We are beach/ocean lovers & plan is to hit the popular places (Arugum, Mirissa, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa etc) but also get off the beaten track and explore the less touristy areas of the coastline.

I have really tried hard to find some conclusive information regarding pu'er tea in Sri Lanka, but so far I have just found some indications that this tea or at least Sri Lankan equivalent is available for sell.

My first contact with pu'er tea was in China where I have bough it and brought to my home. The health effects of this tea are real, especially in lowering the blood pressure, so enjoying this tea is not just a nice and pleasant pastime, but also a healthy habit.
