Anybody knows where is better to hire a car with driver for 3-4days; we'll be on the south coast: Mirissa, or Hikaduwa,or Unawatuna or somewhere there. We are couple and we want to travel to Ella or Haputale and around.Is it problem or not to get decent driver there? How much is it cost?

Hello, my husband and I would like to spend a couple of days at the beach in August but we just can't make up our minds. What's best ? Arugam Bay, Nilaveli or Tangalle, which seems the easiest option but I've heard that the sea can get rough. Thanks for the advice.
Be advised there have been 1,450 cases of Dengue fever resulting in 22 deaths in the Kandy area as of 15th June. Whilst it is unlikely that Dengue would be contracted at any of the better hotels (they are VERY careful about eliminating the breeding areas), there is always the offchance of being bitten elsewhere.
This is not a warning to stay away, just a warning to be aware and be careful.
Hello. Im flying into Colombo in the first week of October. Is it a good idea to head north to escape the rains? Are they even that bad?

Friends of ours went to Sri Lanka recently. They stayed in this gorgeous place inside Galle Fort, and absolutely loved it. It is a very old house, renovated recently, with a courtyard and lots of funky furniture. Unfortunately, neither my partner nor I can remember the name of the place.
