We would like to spend 4 days on the west coast of Kalpitiya peninsula (Werala Beach resort) after 2 weeks of travelling around Sri Lanka at the end of March. We would like to relax there, to snorkl and spend time on the beach. I read that this place is great for kiters. We are not keen on kiting so we are afraid if isn´t there too windy for lying on the beach. Do you have any experience from this place?

We are trying to travel Kandy (or Peradeniya) to Ella on 03.01.17.

We contacted an agent recommended on the maninseat61 website but the trains are all full. Have also tried some of the recommended agents on other threads on this site.
Can I check, do you think this is just for reserved seating? Is it possible to buy a ticket on the day and hop on (standing room) and if so would it be very difficult to appreciate the view.

Hi. We are a family with kids 7 and 9. Currently in Ella, and planned to take the morning train on Friday 30 Dec to Colombo and then by taxi to Bandaranaike to take a 11pm flight. However, all the morning trains from Ella that day are full! I guess we still can buy tickets, but then we will probably be standing the entire trip of 10hrs.
