In 2006 I visited sl and extended my visa at the immigration dept in colombo (i was in sl for over 30 days).......Is this still the case or have things changed. i did hear that things may have changed.

I know it all got very confusing. Now its back to how it was; you can apply for a three months tourist visa at the colombo Immigration dept. I don't know if it had allready changed address when you last applied. Its colombo 10 now. A new place which includes the passport dept so is really busy. There's a decent book shop on the ground floor and then i think you have to go up to the third or forth floor and there, there is a canteen also. they have a web site with the details... something like immigration.gov.lk bit..com.bit but you will have to try google it because i've forgotten. Also don't be fooled by anyone telling you 'why not do it in kandy!' (the kandy immigration is just for locals passports)
